Heartgold which starter pokemon

Cyndaquil - Easy. Easily beats Gyms 2 and 7. All stages of Cyndaquil are speedy. Totodile - Medium. Balanced Gym Difficulties, but its potential won't shine through until at least Ecruteak and even then, only if it can use Bite. Ice Fang rips through Gym 8. Great Attack. Chikorita - Hard. Especially difficult for the mandatory Tin Tower events in HeartGold. Chikorita and its evolutions are tanks, not attackers, so you'll need to rely a lot on the rest of the team.

Just put it in and out of the party when you need to travel from city-to-city. User Info: Kraleck. Top Voted Answer. I wouldn't use chikorita because in my opinion, it's terrible. A lot of people like cyndiquil but at the end, you will probly end up with 3 or 4 fire moves.

The choice you make, of course, is entirely up to you. Remember, all three Pokemon will stay their "Pure" Type as they evolve. Choosing a Cyndaquil, in our estimation, makes the game easiest for you. Of course, you won't be at a huge disadvantage if you choose one of the other two instead indeed, they will give you advantages in other situations.

Chikorita is the dino-like grass Pokemon. It will eventually grow up to the stonewall Meganium. Meganium has high Defense and Special Defense stats, making this Pokemon great for defensive tactics.

Cyndaquil is the little mouse-like fire Pokemon. It will eventually grow up to the strong Typhlosion. By miles. Several miles. I don't care what you say, Generation II sucks. That's just my opinion, no matter how true it may be. More topics from this board How is this still one of the most active boards? Is this over leveling nuzlocke? User Info: Kanester87 Kanester87 11 years ago 5 I started with with Totodile, I think Cyndaquil is the best since no one likes Chikorita and Water-types are super easy to find.

User Info: Tayo Tayo 11 years ago 10 Totodile is the best in everything but looks. LF: Skull Fossil Cranidos. I have failed my Nuzlocke on the fourth gym.
